In recent years, the food at Smokehouse has gone downhill. Their prices have also gone up, but the quality hasn't. I would recommend getting one of their burgers. Their cheese sticks are also pretty good. If they still have it, their chicken salad sandwich is the best. It has cinnamon in it, making it just perfect. The service here is severely lacking. None of the servers seem to care if you are happy or not or if you get your order. They never smile or make you feel welcome unless you are a skeezy loser who they might want to date. The cooks seem to change a lot now with the changing of management so I can't recommend when to go really. Don't expect to get in and out of here on lunch break. Call ahead if you want to get back to the office on time.

You will not find: fancy decor, cloth napkins, fancy dinner or glassware here. You WILL find: homey atmosphere, friendly faces, pool tables, a few booths, and a counter where most sit to eat. Menu posted on the wall, as you order the food is going on the grill, and it will be served hot and quickly. I prefer to wait til the grill is used awhile for some really great flavor. Have a suggestion with your order...I always saw it accepted with no grumbling or fuss..get it your way. The burgers are super, chile, stew, or have 1/2 stew/chile mix. Breakfast is served as you like it and quickly. Want a beer? Get off your barstool and cross the room to the cooler there and give your order. You don't get a ticket for your meal, you go to the register and tell them what you had to eat. If there is an ice storm and you are stranded...their grill is gas. That was a life saver for the terrible ice storm we had about 1995. Gotta give it a try, I bring visitors here all the time.

Okay, not only does this place have great food and pool tables, but it is the playing grounds of some of the greatest rock n' roll bands in the Shoals area! I mean, SONS OF ROSWELL plays there on nearly every visit to Florence! There are of course other bands of less importance but really, what more do you need to know! The lighting is awsome and the stage...MAN, now THAT is a sight to see, it's more like a balcony that goes up like 15 feet in the air! It's really cool. It has great surroundings, great bands and the GREATEST hamburgurs in florence!!! My only complaint is they DO serve alcohol and it is a little small, especially when Sons of Roswell plays, because it is so crowded! But if you're ever in florence looking for something to do, you may want to check this place out for yourself!
