Description:

Standing 42 feet high, over 300 feet long and 200 feet wide, this mound, considered the largest in the Tennessee Valley Region, was a venue for ceremonies and other tribal exercises beginning at its creation in 500 A.D. The mound is located near the banks of the Tennessee River near McFarland Park. Near the base of the mound is an educational museum, which exhibits authentic artifacts dating back thousands of years.

Open Tue. - Sat. 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; Closed Sun. - Mon.
